We know it still might seem far away, but spring really is right around the corner. Winter can be a trying time here in Tacoma, but we want you to have some things to look forward to. Here are three fun activities you can plan in Tacoma this spring.
Visit the Zoo
The Pt. Defiance Zoo & Aquarium features animals from the Pacific Northwest and other parts of the world. Check out the Rocky Shores exhibit to see Beluga whales, otters, and puffins. You can also see Asian elephants and Sumatran tigers in the Asia Forest Sanctuary. After the zoo, walk around Pt. Defiance Park and visit the beautiful gardens.
America’s Car Museum
If you love cars as much as we do, you have to check out this amazing museum. It explores how the automotive industry has changed American culture. The museum’s permanent collection is packed full of classic cars from the past century. From now through July 4, you can see the original Bullitt Mustang, a 1968 Ford Mustang GT 390 Fastback.
Museum of Glass
This is the only museum in the region that showcases modern contemporary glass artwork. Here, you can watch glass artisans at work in the hot shop. Be sure to take in the beauty of the Chihuly Bridge of Glass.
