Halloween is fast approaching, which means it’s not too soon to start preparing for it. In addition to decorating your home or throwing a party, you can also celebrate the occasion with some Halloween snack recipes that kids and adults will enjoy.
Keep it simple with trick-or-treat sugar cookies. You’ll need flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and eggs. For royal icing, simply combine eggs, cream of tartar, and confectioners’ sugar. To decorate the cookies, add sprinkles and color your frosting to make your sugar cookies truly stand apart.
Chocolate-dipped Oreo bat balls are another easy snack to create. Simply dip Oreos in chocolate, add candy eyes, and add chocolate wafers for the wings. Black food-gel is recommended as well, which adds a noticeable sheen to the exterior.
Halloween spider bark is a great recipe if you’re short on time, but still want to make a homemade treat. Melt white chocolate, pour it onto a cookie sheet. Next, add melted dark or milk chocolate using a piping bag to create a spider-web effect. You can also top the bark with candy-spiders for a spooky look.
For a lighter snack, consider celery snails and caterpillars. This recipe uses celery as a base on which you can add grapes, fruit slices, tomatoes, and cucumber slices. Add candy eyes and sprigs of rosemary (for antennae), and hold everything together with peanut butter (for fruit) or sour cream (for veggies).
